At some point, people with acne scars will decide to do something about it. Acne scars can detract from the beauty of a person’s skin. So what are some options in removing these scars conveniently and quickly? Below are some alternatives:
Microdermabration – otherwise known as diamond peel. It improves skin luster and skin tone by getting rid of superficial acne scars. It works best if you get at least a series of 6 peels by undergoing the treatment once every one or two weeks. It uses aluminum crystal to create a dermabration effect on skin surface. The face is the most commonly treated area but sometimes, the neck, arms, and chest can be treated because of sun damage as well.
Scar Revision – The surgical incision of acne scars is particularly effective for boxcar scars and ice pick scars. The excision is usually in the form of a punch with sutures, it will be removed around seven days later.
Photorejuvenation – it makes use of broadband visible light or laser light. Usually, five or six treatments are used every 3-4 weeks to improve the appearance of mild scarring. It causes new collagen in the skin to form.
Laser Treatments – the skin is removed by layers but at the same time, the heat from the laser will tighten the skin. Because of this, scarring will be smoothened. The downside to this is that you will not see the final results until 18 months later.
